PPC Kundentreffen 2026: Award for successful SMGWplus EEBUS SHIP pairing interoperability tests
The energy management systems from Solar Manager and TQ-Systems have been successfully validated for interoperability with the SMGWplus from PPC. Both partners support the new and secure EEBUS SHIP Pairing and have demonstrated successful interoperability through extensive testing. In recognition of this successful implementation, Solar Manager and TQ-Systems were presented with the PPC connect Award at the PPC Kundentreffen 2026.
The TAF 10: How the smart meter gateway becomes the most important sensor in the power grid
TAF 10 is the function of the smart meter gateway that goes far beyond mere billing and makes the gateway the central component for transparency in the smart grid. It turns the smart meter gateway into a standardized sensor in the distribution network—not just in specific areas, but across the board.
Energy Metering, Calisen and PPC conclude largest meter asset provider agreement for the German market
Strong momentum for the rollout of smart meters in Germany: PPC, Energy Metering and Calisen conclude the largest Meter Asset Provider (MAP) agreement for the German market. In the MAP model, Calisen purchases and owns intelligent metering systems (iMSys) and leases these assets to wMSB Energy Metering on a long-term basis. As a competitive metering point operator, Energy Metering installs the iMSys as part of its services by its own customers. Calisen is thus making international capital available for the German smart meter rollout.
initEnergy becomes part of PPC connect: Successful interoperability with EEBUS
PPC presents the PPC connect Award to initEnergy at E-World, recognizing the successful interoperability for Section 9 EEG and Section 14a EnWG between the EnergyGateway from initEnergy and the CLS Adapter from PPC.

Planning ahead instead of making corrections: adjustments according to the target curve
A new white paper shows how the existing infrastructure of the intelligent metering system (iMSys) can be developed from a primarily curative to a preventive, market-oriented control system. The focus is on the envelope curve concept according to EEBUS Use Case POEN.

Digital control meets relays: Weidmüller and PPC launch new solution for control rollout with EEBUS relay converter
At E-world, Weidmüller and PPC are demonstrating the EEBUS Relay Converter (ERC), a solution for control in accordance with Section 14a of the German Energy Industry Act (EnWG) and Section 9 of the German Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG) at the interface between EEBUS digital and relay analogue. The jointly developed product translates digital EEBUS control signals into analogue relay switching commands. This means that even non-digital systems can be controlled by an SMGWplus in accordance with the requirements of Section 14a EnWG and Section 9 EEG.
GE Vernova and PPC demonstrate successful interoperability for broadband communications in power grids
Cambridge / Mannheim, den 11. März 2025 – GE Vernova und die Power Plus Communications AG (PPC) haben die Interoperabilität ihrer Breitband-Powerline-Technologien (BPL) erfolgreich getestet. Im Fokus der Zusammenarbeit stand die Verbindung des MDS™ Orbit PowerNet von GE Vernova mit dem Smart Meter Gateway von PPC, das die Nessum-Technologie einsetzt.
Long-time partners formalize cooperation: PPC joins EEBus e.V.
After a long successful cooperation in many projects, PPC is now also formally a member of EEBus e.V. The symbiosis between PPC's product portfolio and EEBUS as a protocol for applications upstream and downstream of the grid connection is thus further strengthened.
