That was the PPC customer meeting 2025!
This year's PPC customer meeting was once again a huge success - with exciting presentations, productive dialogue and over 250 participants from the energy industry. This time, three tracks were used to present, evaluate and discuss how we can drive forward the digitalisation of the energy system together. The recap of the Customer Meeting 2025 is now online - including a picture gallery, presentations and impressions of two intensive days in Mannheim. Many thanks to all guests, speakers and partners for their input!
SMA and PPC are making hundreds of thousands of households ready for the smart grid – with just a software update
This is what practical interoperability looks like: The inverter expert SMA from Niestetal and the Mannheim-based smart meter gateway manufacturer PPC have jointly developed a groundbreaking solution that makes not only new photovoltaic systems but also existing systems throughout Germany controllable via a firmware update – and thus fit for the smart grid of the future.
PPC digitalises the heat transition
What is the heat transition?. Around half of all energy consumption in Germany falls within the heating sector, with district heating being a major component. The increasing electrification of this energy source is creating both direct impacts on the electricity supply and indirect synergies in the digitalisation of the energy transition as a whole. This affects not just decentralised systems such as heat pumps.
Nuremberg relies on BPL for its Smart Meter rollout
The Nuremberg-based energy company N-ERGIE has come to a positive conclusion after months of the first joint pilot project with PPC and its service subsidiary, Coms4Grid. Thanks to PPCs Broadband Powerline (BPL) communication technology, the roll-out of smart meters in Nuremberg and Hüttenheim is taking place in both urban and rural areas.
