SMGWplus – simply control.
Our SMGW 2 is ready for the transition from measurement to control rollout: with a simple software update, it becomes the SMGWplus and enables direct control from the SMGW.
One solution – many benefits
Every control signal received by the SMGWplus is documented in a log file, as is the feedback (ACK/NACK) from the EMS or the controllable system. The GWA can read out this log file at any time and thus check whether a signal has arrived at the property and has been implemented.
By standardising the interface between SMGWplus and GWA via DIN VDE V 0418-63-8, not only do all GWA system providers have the option of addressing SMGWplus via their backend systems, but in future it will also be possible to integrate other SMGWs for control via the same interface. Manufacturer-specific solutions are therefore prohibited.
Communication between SMGWplus and the EMS or controllable system takes place via the EEBUS protocol. The protocol is already in use throughout Europe for communication between energy-related devices. By using an established protocol, systems that are already on the market today can be easily connected to the SMGW.
The MSB must ensure that control signals arrive at the property. When using the SMWGplus, no additional hardware is required in addition to the SMGW. This not only reduces the hardware costs for the MSB, but also the installation costs. Furthermore, in many cases there is no need for the installer to make a second journey, as the Plus functions can be retrofitted via a software update.
In contrast to other solutions, the SMGWplus processes measured values and control signals from the same device. This makes it possible to synchronise the data. In particular, if a separate meter is used for the controllable systems, the SMGWplus can directly check whether control signals are being implemented in order to send a warning to the MSB in the event of a deviation.
The SMGWplus is a software-only product, which means that already installed SMGWs can be extended with the plus functions via a software update. SMGW 2, which are already installed in the field at the time of certification, can easily receive the SMGWplus update via a software update from the GWA. After certification, you can order SMGW as SMGWplus or alternatively add the Plus functions via a software update.
